What is SMARD

SMARD is the Secondary Mathematics Assessment and Resource Database. It is owned and managed by the Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers. SMARD provides an opportunity for secondary maths teachers to share quality assessment and resources. Most of the assessment and resources available from this site have been classroom-tested, and much of it is non-traditional. You are invited to browse through our collection, select what you want and take it away. And you are certainly invited to contribute to the database!

How to use this site
You can browse the database by clicking on the Database link. The database is divided into six main sections - Junior mathematics (years 8 to 10), Senior Mathematics (years 11 and 12), Puzzles, Competitions, Teaching Mathematics and Mathematics for Pleasure.

The resources are available in a variety of formats, though text files and Word documents are the most common. You can set up your browser to either save the file or to first open an application program (e.g. Word) and then open the file within that application. All files in the database have been carefully checked and are free of viruses. Nonetheless a prudent computer owner always checks files they download using a virus checking program.
